Marvel's Moon Knight Official Trailer Breakdown | Starring Oscar Isaac

Marvel Studios had a good year for its Disney Plus shows in 2021, starting with WandaVision and ending with Hawkeye.

This time they are starting this year with a new TV series "Moon Knight" with a new well-known star Oscar Isaac.

The first Official trailer for Moon Knight show dropped today 18 January,2022.

Here meet Oscar Isaac's character Steven Grant who in comics was a billionaire but it seems Marvel is trying to play this different in live action. Here it is shown that he is having a dissociative identity disorder, which means he can’t tell the difference between his waking life and dreams. We see him lying on a bed having a rubik's cube in his hand, here the jumbled cube could foreshadow that his mind is jumbled up, as he could not figure out who he really is and he has to solve it so that his mind gets stable just like a solved rubik's cube.

In the next shot we see him closing his room's door by using tapes and various locks, as he knows that something is wrong with him because often, he suddenly reaches to a unknown place dressed different, which he thinks is that he is suffering from some kind of sleeping disorder. We hear a voice saying "Hello, and welcome to Staying Awake." tthese lines are repeated again and again, Which in next shots we come to know that he is using an app which helps him preventing from sleeping, cause he knows if he sleeps again he is gonna end up being at another unknown place. He wants to cure his problem so he locks his legs with chains so that he can't run away when he is in his different personality. In the first shot he is seen wearing a white t-shirt, which in the next shot changes to black meaning inspite of locking him up, he could not prevent his different personality from breaking off.
Here we see that he has made a circled boundary around his bed with sand, which according to Egyptian belief is that it keeps evil forces away.

After this we get to see the MARVEL's logo with KID CUDI's song "Day and Night" used as the background music. Next shot is of London street were the whole series will take place. Now if you seen Eternals, from it's post credit scene you will come to know that Dane Whitman aka Black Knight and a voice who is suspected to be Blade both are in London, So we can hope that they might appear in the series and in future MCU we could get to see "MIDNIGHT SONS". We see Steven going to his work, he gets asleep in the bus as his different personality always wakes up at night due to which he could not rest his body properly. The next scene we see is of the British Museum where Steven works in the Egypt section, here we get to see a short conversation between him and Donna an employee at the Museum and his co-worker. Marc in this scene is having some books among which one is "The Book of Dead" which is used for a dead person to move on after life and it is also used to give life to a dead one.

The next scene is of him inside a room where he is looking confused as he could not figure out who he really is? Here we get to see a brief glimpse of his moon knight identity inside a mirror. After this he is seen inside a elevator, to the opposite side of whom is a big personality who actually is khonshu an Egyptian moon god who gives the moon knight powers to him. After which we see that khonshu walking fastly towards Steven (marc), looking this he gets frightened and hides at corner, after which khonshu transforms into an old lady so that Steven does not get frightened. Next shot is of Steven inside the museum where we get to see that his 2 reflections did follow him as he walks away. Here he finds a phone who might had been hid by his real personality Marc, the background music here says "Hold the phone", after which he open a triangle shaped draw inside which is a ringing phone and a key, the key here might be kept by his other personality the cab driver Jake Lockley. He answers the phone and a voice probably of actress May calamawy who is playing Layla who is a mutant in the comics, answers "Oh my God, you're alive. What's wrong with you, Marc?" to which he answers her that why did she called her marc. It's good to see how marvel is slowly introducing mutants in the MCU.

We get to see Ethan hawke's character Arthur Harrow who is a Clinical Research Scientist who might be the villian of the show. It is seen that he is treated like a god among locals as in the next shot people are seen bowing him and touching his hands.
Next we see Steven on street whoes different personality has just knocked down some people and now here he gets back to his Steven Grant's identity & is shocked to see these all. Steven is seen breaking down a mirror in who's reflection he could see his different self. In next shot Arthur Harrow might have brought Steven to his lab after saying "there's chaos in you" in the museum by steven's permission as he himself wants to get cured. We see Steven driving a van in next scene this is the same van that we saw first in the scene where people were bowing Arthur. We could see some boxes behind his seat named Von Do.. which could be a reference to victor von doom aka Doctor Doom, Seeing gun in his hand he gets shocked, here we get to see that the other personality is trying to take over his mind, Arthur's probably gang members are chasing him in cars one among which enters the van but falls from the back door, now many people are thinking that the man that fell from the van was Steven, but the two shots are shown such to confuse the audience. The scene where Steven is falling, might result him dying and then Khonshu will come and bring him alive or just he could transform into moon knight, with the help of his bandages climbs the road.

Here we get to see a scene of him in a Pyramid probably where he will meet Khonshu first, he is seen running with a bag, where if you observe closely will be able to see moon knight's shadow below him. We get to see moon knight in his full costume beating a werewolf like creature who may be Anubis "Egyptian god of death". The trailer ends up showing his full transformation and him in the streets of London.

Thank you, if you read this upto here. It took me so much time to write this, so do consider sharing this post with others.

The Moon Knight show will be premiered at Disney Plus from 30th March, 2022. The show is not yet rated.
